  • ABERDEEN, S.D. – Tickets for the Northern State University theater production of “The Miraculous Tale of Edward Tulane” will go on sale on Monday, Jan. 29.

    The show will be performed in the Johnson Fine Arts Center Black Box Theater at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 16 and at 2:30 p.m. Feb. 17.

  • ABERDEEN, S.D. – Dr. Robert Preston, assistant professor of banking and financial services of the Northern State University School of Business, recently published a scholarly article in the Northwestern Financial Review.

    The article, titled “Will next generation move banks beyond challenges?” was published last month.

  • Burnsville, Minn.  – The Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference released Thursday the 2018 Myles Brand All-Academic with Distinction Award winners. A total of 15 Wolves were named to the list 11 teams.

    The honor, named for the late NCAA President Dr. Myles Brand, is bestowed to senior NSIC student-athletes who have a cumulative grade point average of 3.75 or higher, are exhausting their eligibility and are on track to graduate.  Each student-athlete will be recognized by the NSIC with a certificate of achievement and a wristwatch.   • ABERDEEN, S.D. - Dr. Kelly Duncan, dean of the Northern State University Millicent Atkins School of Education, has co-authored an article that was published in Measurement and Evaluation in Counseling and Development.

    The article, titled “Selecting Suicide Ideation Assessment Instruments: A Meta-Analytic Review,” was published last month.

  • ABERDEEN, S.D. – Artist Molly Wicks will showcase her ‘New Works’ exhibition in the Northern State University Johnson Fine Arts Center Gallery from Jan. 15 to March 9.

    An opening reception for the exhibition will be held on Jan. 15 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. in the JFAC Gallery.

    Molly received a BFA from the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis and a MFA from Washington State University. She is now an instructor in her hometown of Brookings at South Dakota State University where she teaches painting, drawing and design.

  • ABERDEEN, S.D. – Northern State University in Aberdeen, S.D., has released the dean’s list for the fall 2017 semester.

    Students who have earned at least a 3.5 grade point average for the semester are eligible for the dean’s list. There are four categories:

    ? Full-time students with a GPA of 4.0.

    ? Full-time students with a GPA of 3.5-3.99.

    ? Part-time students with a GPA of 4.0.

    ? Part-time students with a GPA of 3.5-3.99.

  • ABERDEEN, S.D. – The 48th annual South Dakota Jazz Festival Concert will be held on Thursday, Jan. 18, featuring guest performers “The Hornheads.”

    “The Hornheads” of Minneapolis, Minn., will serve as guest performers at the festival, which will culminate in an evening performance at 7:30 p.m. in the NSU JFAC Harvey and Cynthia Jewett Theater.
